CONNECT-ED • Developing a Framework for Better Collaboration Between Schools and Families of Autistic Students

Informational poster for the CONNECT-ED research study at University College Dublin, focusing on improving collaboration between schools and families of autistic students.

CONNECT-ED is exploring how families and schools can work together more effectively to support Autistic students in mainstream secondary education.

CONNECT-ED is looking to hear from:

  • Parents or primary caregivers of an Autistic young person who is currently in, or has attended within the past five years, mainstream secondary school (Junior Cycle) in Ireland.
  • Mainstream secondary school teachers with experience of supporting Autistic students.

Participation involves two online workshops that will explore what helps collaboration between home and school, what gets in the way, and what could realistically make things better.

The aim is to use these experiences, alongside the research evidence, to develop a practical framework that is useful in the real world, not just on paper.
