Home care will be regulated for the first time and overseen by the patient safety watchdog (HIQA) under new legislation.

Minister of State for Older People and Housing, Kieran O’Donnell said the Health (Amendment) (Home Support Providers) Bill 2025 which passed through both Houses of the Oireachtas was a landmark.
